Andytown Coffee Roasters Menlo Park

First outpost outside of San Francisco

We’ve been ordering beans and merch from Andytown Coffee Roasters for a while now. Andytown is a San Francisco based local coffee roaster with multiple locations around the city. Having grown up in San Francisco, I know first hand how hard it is to find parking. So we were super excited when we saw Andytown is opening their first location in the San Francisco Bay Peninsula.

Located in the heart of Menlo Park, Andytown decided to open their first outpost on the busy El Camino Real. Definitely easier finding parking here than SF. When we approached the shop, we weren’t surprised why this location is quickly gaining traction amongst the locals.

Sit inside or be with your pooch outside

Andytown occupies a small commercial space in a mixed-use building. So be aware that the shop’s seating is limited. This spot has a mix of bench seating, bar style seating and table seating. We’d say inside seating can accommodate around 20 customers. Andytown Menlo Park also some outside seating, also around 15 to 20 people. We saw a few groups of customers sitting outside with their pups. Both the patrons and their pups enjoying a Saturday morning treat – humans, coffee: pups, a jerky chew. We were lucky enough to find a spot inside after putting in our order.

Inside is decorated like a bird cage. There are some art pieces on display along with a wall of high quality branded merchandise.

Is Andytown coffee and the food worth the hype?

Andytown Coffee Roaster’s flagship store is located in San Francisco downtown. They also have outposts throughout the Sunset and Richmond district. One of the most scenic locations is their Great Highway location, looking out towards the Pacific Ocean. So did their popularity come from great locations or do they genuinely have great coffee? We can definitely say – their coffee and food are both excellent and Andytown has earned every bit of their popularity. On top of roasting their own beans, Andytown also bakes pastries and delivers them to various outposts.

Andytown’s coffee and food are excellent and is high quality. We got a regular latte and oat milk mocha along with a ginger apricot scone and a cheese toastie (grilled cheese). We’re happy to report, the star of the show was the coffee. Both lattes are served at a good temperature; their coffee does not taste burned or over-powering. The espresso is aromatic and compliments well with the pastry and the cheese toastie we got. It’s worth pointing out that Andytown uses artisan local cheese and bread for their cheese toastie you see here; it’s not just Kraft singles.

Grab some Andytown beans and merch

Back to the merchandise they have on display. Andytown has stickers, mugs and their very own beans roasted from their roastery located in San Francisco Sunset district. If you love the coffee cup they serve coffee in, you can buy them too. The ceramic cups, from Loveramics, come in 3 sizes, but be aware that they could be low in stock for the latte size. When we asked, they were actually out of the latte size. The lovely manager their offered us ones on top of their manual espresso machine which are rarely used, which we gladly purchased along with some beans to enjoy at home.

We will definitely be going back with our pup next time!
