Today marks roughly a month since I departed my old job that I’ve been at for more than 7+ years at Roblox. Throughout my tenure, there has been a lot of ups and downs, fun and grind, wins and losses. When I first joined Roblox, it was just a small company that just wanted to bring fun to everyone on the platform. But as the years go by, as the player base got bigger, so did the company evolve. This series will explore how it was like seeing the company grow rapidly from an engineering perspective.
Over the course of these years, helping the company grow from 100+ to now 2000+ employees(*as of writing of this blog post), meeting the people along the way has been the most wonderful experience. Along with growth of head count also coincided with growth of technology both internal tech and tech that Roblox users interacts with everyday. I am forever grateful that all thaat Roblox has taught me both technically and non-technical; professionally and personally.
In this series, we will dive into my tenure. What has changed from when I initially joined the organization? The great, the good, the bad, and the ugly. As we make our way through different topics, I’ll leave links below so you can quickly skip to each topic that we’ll be exploring.
