Kona Coffee Purveyors – Artisan Coffee in Oahu

Kona Coffee Haven of Waikiki

Last week, we returned from a week long vacation in Oahu. Being Disney Vacation Club members, we stayed at Aulani on the west side of the island. Even though Waikiki is on opposite side of the island to Aulani, we were still determined to seek out this coffee spot.

Of all of the coffee spots we’ve visited on the island of Oahu, Kona Coffee Purveyors is by far the best coffee shop. Kona Coffee Purveyors features different kinds of beans from Hawaii, they are 100% Kona coffee.

Pastry from Heaven – b patisserie

What goes with a great cup of coffee? A delicious pastry of course. Kona Coffee Purveyors in Waikiki sells pastries from b patisserie. If you’re from the San Francisco Area, you’ve probably heard of b patisserie. So we were doubly excited to visit this spot when we found out they serve pastries from b patisserie. Our top recommendation for pastries is the Kouign Amann. Kouign Amann is a crusty, buttery, flaky pastry; think croissants but more buttery.

We ordered a black sesame Kouign Amann to share; we only got so much stomach space after all the different foods we ate. It was heaven! The black sesame version is usually a seasonal item here in the bay. When we saw that, we just could not pass that up. The sesame taste is one of toasted sesame. It is not overly sesame taste. That toasted sesame paste with the butter makes a perfect pairing with the coffee.

Beans from Kona

Kona Coffee Purveyors carries a collection of Kona coffee. They are all 100% Kona Coffee beans roasted to perfection. Even though they might be close to the source of beans, due to the amount of beans produced, Kona Coffee is on the expensive side. Kona Coffee Purveyors sells beans in 6 oz bags and 12 oz bags. So that it doesn’t break the bank if you want to bring some home. PS: Roasted coffee bean has no problem passing agricultural checks when leaving Hawaii bound for mainland US. Buy away!

We’re definitely going back next time we visit Oahu. Parking can be a pain in Waikiki, so we’d recommend Uber-ing in or find a parking lot that can be validated to cut down on parking cost.

They also have all sorts of merch.
