Transitioning into November has made me realize that the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend is roughly 2 weeks away. Staring at the daunting 40+ miles for the Dopey Challenge, I’m reminded that I should not give in to the training so that I won’t be struggling to finish during the marathon weekend.
Though unfortunately, this week and next week, life has and will get into the way of training and my weekly mileage will suffer a bit. This last week, I struggled to finish 19 miles. Originally planned for 20 miles, I had to cut my run short so that I don’t end up injuring myself this close to the race.

At least I was able to get 2 longer runs in… This isn’t the ideal training schedule, I’d rather have trained 4 days instead of 3 with the same total weekly mileage. But alas, as I’ve mentioned, life gets in the way sometimes…
Starting November, rain will start to fall where I live. So I’ll have to adapt running in the rain for at least a couple of runs since runDisney doesn’t cancel races during the rain. They will cancel or cut short if there is lightning in the area, which I totally appreciate for runner safety.
The ramp up on weekly miles needs to come soon and so will my training volume…
